Hello and welcome back!! We didn't get much blogging done in 2010, but hopefully we can get back on track in 2011!! The new year has already proved very busy for the Prouds, but we are having a great time!! Daddy is studying for a promotion exam, Mommy is busy with her doula work, and Cat is keeping everyone on their toes with her antics!! Here are a few pictures of Miss Cat from the last few weeks! Hopefully, this week I can recap a few of this big events from last year!!

First "Spend the Night Parties"

In January, Cat spent her first night away from home (with someone other than family). I have been friend's with Tiffany since middle school and I love that our kids are so close!! Her son Aidan is 4 and he and Cat adore each other!! So Cat spent the night at Tiffany's one Friday night and the next weekend Adian spent the night with us!! They had a blast and neither one asked to go home :)

Bad Blog Mama

Hello and Happy New Year to all of our blog fans!! I have to admit I have been pretty bad at keeping up with Cat's blog this past year!! BUT, that is because I have felt so good and have spent so much less time sick and bored in bed!! I am still feeling great, but am going to try to post at least a few times a month from now on!! I am going to do our first 2010 post soon, but since it has been so long since you have gotten to see Miss Cat's shining face, I am going to do a little recap of the last 7 months! Here is what you missed:

At the end of May, we made the LONG drive to Indiana and Ohio to visit Daddy's family!! Aunt Claire went with us to entertain me!! We had such a great time and did lots of cool stuff!! Here I am with my Aunt Claire and Uncle Nathan at the Indianapolis Zoo!!

I thought King's Island in Ohio was AWESOME, but I was very upset that I was too small to go on a roller coaster!! Maybe next time!!

In Ohio we stayed with Aunt Sue and Uncle Cecil - they spoiled me to death!! Uncle Cecil makes a great playmate and he sneaks me candy!!

Meme and Poppy went with us to a Cincinnati Reds game!! I thought it was awesome, especially the food!!
In June, Mommy had an Alpha Delta Pi reunion at UWF. There were lots of sisters there that Mommy hadn't seen in soooo long and she was soooo excited to show me off!! Here we are at the picnic:

Mommy's ADPi sister Jen has a little girl just my age and we hit it off right away!! There was a stage set up in the grill and Addy and I took it over so we could show off our moves!!

I love when Mommy's ADPi sister Ginny-Beth come to visit us from Utah! She is one of my favs!!Mommy and Daddy got to go to dinner all by themselves while I stayed with Cookie and Papa!! I think they had fun!!

Later in June, Daddy and Papa took Mommy to see some new doctors at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. I spent a whole week with Cookie and we had soooo much fun!! We spent a day at the beach, which including breakfast (an old Carnley family tradition)!!

We spent the night at Baboo's cabin on Coldwater Creek! I loved playing in the water and hanging out by the campfire at night!! And I got to sleep in the big bed with Lauren!!

We swam at both Bab's and Ethel's pools!! I caught a cricket in Ethel's!!

When I got home from my week with Cookie, Mommy and Daddy had a surprise for me - A BIG GIRL BED!! Good thing because I was worn out!! Oh and Mommy met a great new hematologist at Mayo and now sees him every three months!!

June was such a pretty month outside!! I really enjoyed exploring and playing with my family!! Mommy caught this picture of me swinging at Cookie and Papa's house one beautiful afternoon!

July was a busy month. First, we had the 4th of July. Mommy, Daddy, and I watched fireworks and did some sparklers with our good friends The Vaughans!! Aidan and I enjoyed it a lot!! We had our annual party at Aunt Barbara's and Uncle Eric's, but Mommy forgot the camera - oops!!
A few days later Mommy went into surgery to get a Neurostimulator (click here for more info) placed in her spinal cord. This was a long planned surgery to help relieve Mommy of some of her abdominal pain!! She had a great pain management doc, a great surgeon, and a team of people from Medtronics there to ensure everything went well!! It was a tough surgery and recovery, so I spent some time with Cookie and Papa, Daddy, and Baboo. These pics tell all:

August was a great month!! Mommy was healing from her surgery and the Stimulator was helping soooo much, she didn't have to take ANY more pain medicine!! We spent a lot of time hanging out as a family!! Here I am swimming at the beach!!

Wading with Aidan after dinner at Flounders. Soon after this, we both fell in and ended up swimming in pull-ups :)

I started school again in August, too!! This was my first day back and Daddy came from work to walk me in!!

I also started ballet classes at Labelle Performing Arts. Mommy's friend Jeannie owns it and it is a fabulous studio!!

September was a very hard month for our family, so we are just going to share two pictures. Daddy's cousin and friend, Kevin Michael Griffin, passed away on September 22, 2009. He was 23 years old and had a beautiful new wife, very loving parents, a great brother, and lots of family a friends who loved him! Here are some pictures of Kevin when he and Darla visited us in August.

These pictures are on a shelf in my room and I tell Mommy that Kevin is my angel in heaven!!

October was a beautiful month and the weather was perfect for playing outside!! We spent a lot of evenings hanging out in the driveway watching Cat "drive" her cars!!

We took a trip out to the "Corn Maze" in Milton where I rode this super cool cow train!!

Mommy and Daddy took me to Melting Pot for a special treat - FONDUE and dinner with the LeSage/Goldstien clan!! I loved all of the Halloween preparations, but I did not want anything to do with any "scarey-crows"

On Halloween Day, Cookie planned tons of activities for me and my friend B!! Aren't we cute??

Here I am "Trick-or-Treating in my Wall-E costume that Mommy and Daddy made!!

In November, I got to perform at the Gulf Coast Arts Festival in Pensacola with my ballet class!! We danced to "Little Fishies" and were sooo cute!! I LOVED being on stage!! I turned 3 this year and my birthday celebration started off with Sunday Lunch at Baboos!! I loved my "special, special cake" aka a cake made without milk or eggs!!! The next weekend I had a great party at my house!! It was a Hello Kitty Themed ARTY PARTY!! Mommy's friend Ms Leah came and did an art lesson with me and all my friends!! This was my BIG birthday present!! It too Daddy, Mr Dave, and Papa three full days to build!! I LOVE IT!!

On Thanksgiving, we ate at Cookie and Papa's house!! My favorite foods this year were roasted pecans and olives :)
December was such a fun month!! Daddy graduation from the NCO Academy and Mommy and Papa got to go to his graduation party!!

We are soooo proud of him!!

Mommy and I did Christmas activites every single day, I met Santa 3 times, and I decided that I was a reindeer!! Here I am in my Christmas Eve Party Dress!!

Mommy's friend Erica and her family came into town for the week and we met the at the beach to play!! I had so much fun with Erica and Jesse and their 2 little boys!! Here we are playing!!

Two African Forest Elephants (Kamba and Congo) visited our area so they could appear with the Pensacola Opera. The NW Florida Zoo boarded them and during the day they gave rides. Mommy, Baboo, and I went to the Zoo to see and ride them!! I had so much fun that I cannot stop talking about riding Kamba and seeing Congo!!Our camera batteries gave out when Mommy and I were about to ride the elephant, but luckily the Zoo took a picture for us! We will post it when we scan and upload it!! Here are some others we took that day!!

Kim and Claire's Birthday Celebration at Baboo's

In our family, everyone gets a birthday party at Baboo's house for their birthday. Claire and Kim's birthdays are a week apart, so they usually celebrate together (although they each get to pick what they want to eat). This year, Cat has really been enjoying birthdays, so she has been helping everyone celebrate!!

Daddy had a PT test near the end of April and was doing push-ups to get ready for it! I decided to help train him!! I climbed on his back and said "up, down, up, down." Mommy thought it was very funny and took some pics!!

A Trip to the Ball Park

I went to one of the last UWF softball games of the seasons with Cookie and Papa!! I had so much fun and cannot wait to go again next year!!

I got to go on the field with Aunt Claire to see Cindy and the players!! By the way, I just named the puppy statue on our front porch Cindy!!

I liked the tractor that cleans the field!!
The grass was so pretty and green, I decided to take a break and lay down to play my flute!

I found a friend to play ball with me. And yes, I THREW that ball!!

After we sat back down, I sat by my new friend and put my hand on his leg!! So cute!!

Easter Sunday!!

We woke up on Easter Sunday and I opened my Easter Basket from Mommy and Daddy!!

The sunglasses were my favorite!!

I gave Daddy a little trouble about wearing a dress, but once I got it on, I loved it!!
I wore my new sunglasses through Sunday School!! Here's one of my favorite friends at school and church!!

We went to Kim's for lunch with the family!! Opening my basket from Baboo!!

Mommy caught me swinging from Papa during the blessing!!

After lunch I hunted eggs and played with great, great aunt Ethel!

Mommy, Claire, and I got Cookie, Baboo, and Meme Easter Lillies. I liked them a lot!!

Claire sat and helped me open my baskets from her and Cookie and Papa!!

I got into my basket from Claire and the volleyball girls first!! I went right for the worms, of course!!

Then I found the Peeps! I thought they were alwesome!!

Then came my basket from Cookie and Papa!!

She got me some toothbrushes to go along with all my candy!!

The snakes, bugs, and dinosaurs were my favorite!! I really liked this red snake!!

Cookie and I did some ballet together! I am getting ready for classes this summer!!

I wanted to get in the basket covers, so Claire slipped me in...

...and gave me to my Mommy! I am the best Easter gift ever!!

Egg Dying at Cookie and Papa's

We dyed eggs at Cookie and Papa's house before Easter. I was interested, but it only lasted for a while.

We did one color at a time, so I started with yellow!! I smelled it first!!

A Day with Daddy - Riverwalk Park and the SR Fair

Daddy and I spent a fun Saturday together in April! We went to the Riverwalk Park and then to the SRC Fair!

Mommy's Birthday Lunch

Mommy got another year older this year! She tried to ignore it, especially after Daddy taught Cat to say "Mommy is OLD!!!", but who can resist a birthday party at Baboo's house.

I love birthday parties and think they are all for me, so I helped blow out the candles!!

I also love licking the icing off the candles!!

Baboo always has ice cream cones for me!!
After lunch we went to the ballfield to watch Maddie's softball practice, which I thought was awesome! Daddy and I ran the "squares" aka bases!!

We baby-sat for my friend Lexzi one Friday night so her Mommy could do something for school. We had lots of fun, but I was a little jealous!!

We went to a Mardi Gras Festival in Destin on the beach. It was so much fun and we spent some time on the beach while we were there!

Since I was teeny tiny, I have loved my dogs and they have loved me. I am finallly getting old enough to really play with them. Here are some things we like to do together!!

Do tricks - I can get Toby to do lots of tricks like "shaking"

Play - Cody likes to join me in my ball pit!!
Relax in the crib - I love for Toby to get in my crib and hang out!!

Get kisses - Cody loves to give them, but Mommy and I don't like it so much!!

Watch TV - Toby always snuggles with Mommy and I to watch TV before bed!!

You might have noticed that Ally isn't in any pics. She hasn't been feeling well the last few months due to a liver insufficency, so she keeps to herself in her crate or in Mommy and Daddy's bed. Hopefully she will be feeling well enough to play tug-of-war again soon!!

My "Amarisis" aka as an Amaryllis

Right before Christmas, my Aunt Babs gave me a special present - an Amaryllis bulb in a pot. She knows how much I enjoy nature and thought I would like watching it grow!! And did it ever grow!!! Form the beginning, I called it my "Amarisis" and enjoyed taking care of it. I helped water it every day and reminded Mommy and Daddy when they forgot!! I also thought that hugging my plant every day and talking to it were very important!! I told it "grow Amarisis grow" several times a day and insisted on hugging it alot.

It must have worked - here it is less than a month later!!! I am soooo proud!!

A Special New Year Visitor

We had a very special visitor over the holidays! Mommy's dear, dear friend Ginny-Beth came to Pensacola for a visit. Mommy hadn't seen Ginny-Beth in several years and was so glad to be able to spend some time with her. And Ginny-Beth had not gotten to meet me until now. We fell in love right away!! It was sooo much fun! COME BACK SOON GB!!

I gave GB a hug right away!!

I got tickled like crazy!!

Mommy's ADPi diamond sister Angie stole some snuggles too!!

Then she picked me up and saved me from her big dog Foster (he just wanted to play, but he was way bigger than me!!)

After a wild week of Christmas celebrations, I was so exhausted. Mommy, Daddy, and I stayed at home and played with all of our new toys. It was great to just relax at home!!

On Christmas Day, we opened gifts with Cookie and Papa, ate lunch, and took naps. Then in the evening, we met Kim and Lauren at Baboo's house to exhange gifts. We were all pretty tired from the Christmas craziness, but it was night to be together! I didn't want to open gifts, so Mommy, Daddy, and Aunt Claire did it for me and I played with them!!

One of my favorite gifts was my new pink guitar from Baboo!!

Christmas Morning

I was so tired from the Christmas Eve Party that I slept in a little bit on Christmas morning. I woke up with a really wet diaper and since I had on a nightgown, I just took it off! When Mommy came in and saw me without a diaper, she laughed soooooo hard. We went in the living room and Mommy got me a new diaper. While she was doing that, she told me about my special nightgown. It was hers when she was a little girl and Aunt Claire wore it too! I like that it belonged to them!! Papa was missing from the loft. I ran to his and Cookie's bedroom and he was asleep. Papa said he was sick, but he would come see me in a little while. I went back in the living room and told Cookie Papa was "sweeping". Once she figured out what I was saying, she taught it was so cute!!!

The Annual Peppers Family Christmas Eve Party

The Peppers side of mommy's family has been having a Christmas Eve Party since my Papa was a kid (a LONGGG time ago). That means I am part of the 3rd generation of children to attend these parties. Right now, my cousin Kaylee and I are the youngest ones in the family and we both love being the center of attention. Kaylee is only 6 months older than me and we have so much fun together!! Mommy says that she and Kaylee's daddy (Trey) are olny 6 months apart too! Isn't that cool!!

One of my favorite things we did this Christmas was "SNOW." When it started to get colder this year, I asked Mommy and Daddy when it was going to snow. I felt bummed when I found out that it doesn't snow in Florida. So Mommy found me the next best thing - fake snow. She ordered it from Steve Spangler Science A few days later, then bag came and we were making snow1 It was so cool and I really enjoyed playing with it!!

Mom let me play with it at the table, transferring, scooping, and touching it!

Daddy had a different idea!! Mommy was mad about the mess, but she had to admit it was so cute!!!We made footprint angel cards for my friends and family members. And I did some extra painting too! Hurlburt always puts on a GREAT Christmas Party for the Kids, so this year we took Cat! She thoroughly enjoyed herself! The party is held in one of the bigger hangers and there is so much to do - face painting, cookie decorating, jumpers, riding toys, and a special visit from Santa.

Trip to New Orleans for Larinda and Chris' Wedding

My whole family went to New Orleans to celebrate Aunt Larinda and Uncle Chris' wedding. Mommy and Daddy went ahead the day before and Cookie and Papa and I went over on the actual day of the wedding. As soon as I got there, I got dressed in my pretty dress and we went over the the Montegut House. I was a little scared because downstairs everyone was watching football and they were loud. But it got very quiet the bridal procession started,

The Search for the Perfect Christmas Tree

Every year Cookie and Papa, Mommy and Daddy, and Claire go to the Christmas Tree Fee in search of that perfect tree. This year, I got to go for the first time! It was soooo much fun!

I really enjoyed riding in the back of the truck with the girls when we were on the dirt road. See my hair flying!!

Thanksgiving Festivities

Thanksgiving was so much!! When I woke up this morning, there was a parade on TV. I danced and marched along with the performers and loved all of the balloons!

Then Mommy and Daddy helped me make cards for the family. The turkeys were made from my handprints! The paintbrush tickled, but Mommy was able to keep me still for 20 cards. I enjoyed it a great deal, especially getting to paint by myself when the cards were done.

Once I got cleaned up from painting, Mommy got me ready to go to Cookie and Papa's house for lunch. I wore my favorite dress with my "long socks" aka tights. Here I am, all dressed and ready with Kitty!!

"I Am A Monkey"

My favorite thing to do with Daddy lately is "the Monkey." He holds me by my ankles and swings me back and forth over the couch while I scream "I am a monkey." Then he flops me on my back on the couch and tickles me until I get the hiccups. It makes Mommy and Cookie crazy, but I love it!!

From the moment Mommy found out she was pregnant, she started reading about ways to bond with me. Mommy was turned on to baby-wearing by her friend Erica who wore sons Ethan and Miles in a sling from the time the were tiny infants through toddlerhood! Erica was so good that she could wear both kids at once. Mommy saw how happy the boys were being so close to their mommy and how calm Erica was when the boys were so near her. And so my mommy fell in love the idea of baby-wearing. She bought several kinds of slings and baby-carriers. We tried the sling quite a few times, but I wanted nothing to do with the it. But we did find that we both loved the Mei-tai!! Mommy bought a beautiful one from http://www.meitaibaby.com/ and we used it a lot! Here we are:

Well, Mommy's friend Kellie Wilcox Leon has a business making slings (If you want one, let Mommy know and she will put you in touch with Kellie). And since she didn't get to make one for me when I was a baby, Kellie made me one I can use now!! I think being able to carry my baby dolls and my stuffed animals in my sling. And I look pretty cute doing it too!

We had such a good time trick or treating this year with Cat. Everyone went, including Cookie, Papa, Mommy, Baboo, Kim, and Lauren. What a crew!! Zoo Trips

I love the Zoo. Every year Baboo gives me a Zoo pass ofr my birthday! I can go as often as I want and ride the train as many times as I want - it is so much fun! My favorite things are feeding the giraffes (Gabby and Colby), petting the farm animals, and riding the train! One week I went twice - once with Mommy and once with Baboo and Mommy!!

The very first weekend in September, we went over to Mobile for the weekend to go to a Stock the Bar party for Aunt Larinda and Uncle Chris. It was tons of fun to hang out with them and Cat had a BLAST. She especially liked playing in the pool and hugging on Chris' dog Harley. Too bad a hurricane was on its way in and Chris had to spend a lot of the weekend working :(

On Sunday, we went to the Exploreum which Cat fully enjoyed! And we did too!!

Then we heard that the Mobile Tunnel was going to be closed in the next few hours, so we took off and headed home to Navarre. It was a great weekend though!!

On August 26th, I went to my very first day of Preschool. I am going to Navarre United Methodist Church's Preschool on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am - 1pm. I did great my first day, I didn't even cry. My teachers Ms. Emily and Ms. Nica are amazing and I now beg to go to school every morning!!

My friend John Raymond had his 2nd birthday party at Chuckie Cheese on August 23. I enjoyed some parts a lot, but others not so much!!

I really liked the big horse ride!!

I also liked playing in the toddler play area!

And John Raymond's mom made a really cool alligator cake!

But then those singing and dancing animals showed up!I hid my face in Daddy's sholder.

When Mommy goes to the hospital, everyone works together to make sure I am with family as much as possible. On the weekends, I stay with Daddy and my puppies at home. Daddy takes me places, like the park, Gymboree, and the Zoo. We also go and visit Mommy some too! During the week, I stay with Cookie and Papa. When they go to work, sometimes Aunt Claire or Baboo come to visit me. Other days, I go to play with my friend John Raymond! His mommy Jennifer does lots of fun stuff with us! As much as Mommy misses me, she knows I am always in good hands. She is so thanksful to have so many people to help her take care of me! Here are some pictures of my adventures:

Daddy loves to fix me big breakfasts on the weekend! I like to have eggs, grits, oatmeal, toast, ham, lil smokies, and fruit (not all at once, of course)! And I am such a big girl now - I can eat with a fork and spoon!

Father's Day Painting

Mommy had planned to get my handprints done for Daddy and my grandfathers before Father's Day. That didn't happen, but it worked out great! Daddy and Papa actually painted WITH ME on Father's Day! We all had a great time and even made a painting to bring to Mommy at the hospital!

As many of you know, I have had a little trouble with walking! At 16 months, my pediatrician, Dr. Mousa, referred me for a Physical Therapy(PT) evaluation. They said my feet were turning in a little and it made walking scary for me. The physical therapist recommended Sure Step http://www.surestep.net/braces and weekly PT sessions! It has been a long process, but I finally got my braces (with pink and purple flowers), as well as somereally cool shoes called Hatchbacks http://www.hatchbacksfootwear.com/index.htm I also got some Crocs since they work great with my braces too! I started PT sessions 2 weeks ago with Miss Nikki! She is sooo much fun and has lots of toys to help me learn to walk! I am improving every day - I should be walking all by myself in no time!! Mommy wanted Daddy to have an ultra-fun birthday this year, so she rented him a GIANT blow-up Slip N' Slide. We had to postone the party for a few weeks since Mommy was in the hospital, but it was worth it! We all had a great time! Check it out!

An Afternoon at "The Creek"

Mommy's family has had property on Coldwater Creek since she was a little girl. Today, Baboo came to keep me and she was talking about how she had been at the cabin this weekend and Mommy got inspired. We rode up to "the creek" late this afternoon for a picnic and too check out the scenery. Cat LOVED it!

...then, explored the sandbar. I still hate the sand!!

but with a little Mommy-coaxing, I decided to give it a try...

Catherine and Stephen's Baptisms

As most of you know, it was our plan to get Catherine baptised Sunday. We went to meet with our Pastor (Jason) last week to discuss what infant baptism means and how the ceremony was to go. While we were there, he asked what our intentions were as far as baptisms and membership. Although we had been visting St. Luke for a while and my parents are members, we had not yet joined the church. I was baptised at St. Luke when I was in middle school, but Stephen had never been baptised. So we decided that Stephen and Cat would be baptised together and that we would all become members of St. Luke.

So yesterday was a very special day for all of us. The baptism ceremony was beautiful. Catherine did very well. She went right to Jason and didn't seem to mind the water being put on her head. She even waved at the congregation when Jason walked her up and down the ailse to show her off! So mommy has gotten brave and decided to try to post a video! It is an adorable video of me and Daddy playing with rice. I don't do much talking because I am really focused on the rice!! A Weekend at Home

Since Mommy is still recovering from her hospital stay and we had no plans for the weekend, we decided to stay at home and just hang out. We enjoyed her weekend at home!

I love singing the "Itsy Bisty Spider" - this is "washed the spider out"

We played outside on Sunday morning - I am trying to blow bubbles. I needed a little help from Mommy, though!

Mommy made me homemade popsicles - apple juice flavored! YUMMMMM!

When it got too hot outside, we played with rice! Sooo much fun!

Daddy joined in to teach me about gravity!

My Week with Daddy

Trip to The Zoo with Daddy

We spent a lot of time outside this week. It was beautiful weather here in Sunny Florida. Mommy and I had a picnic at the park on Mondya, then Today Daddy took me to the Zoo! I had a really good time, especially when we got to feed the giraffe. I still like the petting zoo best, because I love to see the goats, sheep, and pigs! One of the goats tried to steal my shoe, but daddy saved it for me! After the Zoo, I went home and took a nap, then Daddy and I went to visit Mommy at the hospital! Here are a few pictures.
